According to foreign media reports on the 17th, due to the server failure of Akamai Technologies, one of the world's major content distribution network service providers, the websites of dozens of financial institutions and airlines in Australia and the United States were down for up to an hour.
This is the second time that the United States and other countries have experienced widespread Internet downtime in the recent past.
On the 17th, the websites of several institutions such as Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Westpac Banking and ANZ Bank were paralyzed, and some services resumed operation after about an hour.
In addition, according to data from the US "Network Detector" website, in the early morning of the 16th to the 17th local time, many airline websites, including American Airlines, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines, and Delta Airlines, experienced downtime. Thousands of complaints from online users have been triggered.
Among them, Southwest Airlines cancelled nearly 300 flights and postponed more than 500 flights after it was forced to temporarily suspend operations due to website failures.
The person in charge of Akamai Technology Company stated that the network server interruption is related to technical problems, and the affected network platforms have been restarted one after another.
Recently, a large number of websites around the world are down due to server failures. On June 8, a cloud computing service provider in the United States encountered a technical problem, causing a large number of websites in dozens of countries and regions around the world to be inaccessible to users.
After the failure lasted for about an hour, the affected websites resumed visits one after another. After checking, it was confirmed that a server configuration problem caused the entire server operation to be interrupted.
